Job Description Summary

Assist a variety of IS teams with their annual summer projects, repairs, system checks and other operational tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service related tasks as assigned through Fresh Service.

Assists in planning of technology deployment for summer projects: AV hardware, loaner/conference computers, computer exchanges, etc.

Assist in maintaining the functionality of all AV equipment across campus.

Perform system wipes, OS reinstallation, and other computer refurbishing tasks.

Assist in maintaining documentation records of all IS managed hardware.

Work as a team member with other technical staff.

Accountable for maintaining the security and confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information or data in any medium regarding the university or its students, faculty, or staff. Accessing or disclosing such information or data must be deemed necessary for the performance of one's job responsibilities and must be authorized by the employee's supervisor.

Availability to work after hours and/or weekends as specified by the supervisor.

Additional Job Description

REQUIRED SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

Uses professional knowledge and experience to analyze information and exercises judgment in resolving problems of moderate complexity

Ability to Interact regularly with peers; interacts with customers to gather data, provide information, or resolve lower-level technical issues.

Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments

Excellent written and oral communications skills, superior telephone etiquette and ability to deal effectively with students, faculty and staff as well as peers and management.

Familiarity with Wake Forest campus and faculty or ability to acquire such knowledge.

Ability to operate/familiarity with the following: Computers to include design and project management software and problem reporting software Fresh Service, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and similar programs.

Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical work. Climbing, stooping, crouching, talking, hearing, crawling, reaching, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs. Close visual acuity. Subject to inside environmental conditions, frequently in close quarters.
