The UWMC Eastside Specialty Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time MEDICAL ASSISTANT. UW Medical Center's Eastside Specialty Center provides residents of Bellevue and neighboring communities excellent outpatient treatment, including minor procedures, from some of the region’s finest physicians.
The Center provides care in the following practices:
Cardiology
Gastroenterology
Orthopaedics
The individual in this position will perform duties to assist our health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients, including preparing the patient and the environment for treatment; meeting the communication needs of patients and family; conducting basic diagnostic tests; providing patient care coordination, providing patient education, and clerical/reception functions. Additionally, they will communicate with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition, including symptoms and results of diagnostic tests, as well as complete follow-up as directed by provider.
As a member of the health care team, the Medical Assistant helps to create a culture of professional excellence and helps to maintain an environment that respects cultural, economic, ethnic and lifestyle differences of patients and staff.
May work with totally different specialty providers on different days, for example, Cardiology one day, General Surgery another day, Orthopaedics another day. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board;
OR
equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement:
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment.
