The Director of College Life is instrumental in cultivating a distinctive, supportive, and diverse Honors community where all students experience a sense of belonging. The role reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement within the Lewis Honors College. In consultation with the Assistant Dean, this role manages a college-wide, co-curricular program model which includes student learning outcomes and assessment plan. The co-curricular initiatives include strategies for engaging specific populations of students including, but not limited to, incoming freshmen once confirmed, first year students during transition period, residents in Honors housing, students not living in Honors housing, and upper-level students.

The director is responsible for overseeing the annual new student orientation program for the Honors College, which serves to help onboard students to the college and get connected with peers. Collaboration with Residence Life staff is also key in order to provide support and programming within Honors housing. The director also coordinates with staff and faculty to insure college-wide events are well planned and executed.

The Director of College Life manages the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of student leaders who serve the Honors College within the roles of orientation leaders, residential peer mentors, college liaisons, and lead peer assistants.
