Position Summary:
The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering invites applications for a Specialist Professor position beginning Fall 2024. Exceptional candidates in all areas of Computer Science or Data Science are encouraged to apply. Areas of particular interest include but are not limited to natural language-based Data Science, ethics and bias in Data Science, and programming in a variety of programming languages.

Candidates must have at least a Master of Science degree in computer science, data science, or a related discipline by the expected start date and at least 3 years of industrial experience in data science or related field. The candidates should be committed to teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

The successful applicants will teach 12 credits per semester of undergraduate and graduate courses; actively mentor and advise students; and serve on committees at the department, school, and university levels.

Monmouth University's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering (two undergraduate programs are ABET-accredited), and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, and Data Science. The department has developed strong ties with the local industry. The candidates will have opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations across the university and with companies in the vibrant Jersey Shore technology corridor. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but priority will be given to applications received by February 26th 2024.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
