SCHEDULE: Hours are flexible within range of Monday-Thursday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Occasional evening, holiday, or weekend work required: Registration events, Open Houses, Accepted Students Day, New Student Orientation
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: Yes, rotating schedule on Fridays during the academic year.
HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 17.5 hours/week and 52 weeks/year

ANNUAL SALARY: Molloy utilizes a salary calculation tool that is designed to treat all University employees fairly and maintain internal equity with-in our compensation structure. Salary for individual incumbents is determined by skills and knowledge, position relevant experience, and equity within the University.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The TRIO counselor is responsible for providing a high level of support to students in the federally funded TRIO SSS Program. The TRIO Counselor works collaboratively with all constituencies at the university to facilitate effective academic interventions, provide individual and group academic advisement, connect students to appropriate resources and support the overall goals of the TRIO Program. An understanding of the support needed for diverse student populations is critical to this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate First Year Success Seminar classes (STA 0900 and 0910) for and TRIO students.
- Perform student intakes and provide academic counsel to TRIO students. Meet individually with program students and families to discuss academic concerns, issues and successes.
- Work collaboratively across campus to implement workshops, events and student success initiatives to support TRIO students.
- Act as academic advisor for Undeclared TRIO students. Serve as a secondary advisor for an assigned cohorts of TRIO students.
- Utilize various platforms to implement recruiting strategies for TRIO eligible students.
- Provide directed interventions, including the facilitation of academic plans and success plans for students not in good academic standing, for TRIO students on academic probation.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years of work-related experience
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
