Job Summary/Basic Function

The Coordinator of Annual Giving for Athletics will be responsible for soliciting and stewarding annual gifts for MTSU, with a focus on outright gifts to the Athletics program in support of all Blue Raider student-athletes.
In collaboration with the Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA) staff, BRAA Board of Directors, and the MTSU Foundation, the Coordinator will oversee and execute the annual giving program for athletics. The position reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Development/Chief Development Officer.

The Coordinator of Annual Giving for Athletics will assist the Deputy Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Directors in all aspects of the Athletic Fund Raising program for the University's 17 NCAA Division I sports. The Coordinator of Annual Giving for Athletics will be responsible for soliciting annual gifts for Middle Tennessee State University, with a focus on outright gifts to the Athletics program in support of all Blue Raider student-athletes.

In collaboration with the Associate Athletics Director for Development, the Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA) the MTSU Foundation, the Coordinator will assist in oversight and execution of the annual giving program for athletics. This position will be the primary contact for all annual giving efforts and develop and initiate strategies for new member acquisitions and annual renewals. Additionally, the position will assist in the organization and implementation of the comprehensive annual giving strategy and membership campaign as approved by the Athletic Director, Deputy AD and Associate AD. The position will work with the Associate AD and Deputy to develop a yearly recruitment of new donors; retaining current members, development of renewal letters, invoices, donor/prospect visits, fulfillment of donor benefits, and all written correspondence.

The Coordinator of Annual Giving will also assist and oversee the development and help maintain the membership donor database and track revenue and memberships from donors. Additionally the position will assist the Deputy AD and Associate AD with overall marketing of the athletic department and BRAA and assist in the communication with our BRAA Members; grow and expand the 110% annual giving initiative; assist in hospitality of donors and prospective donors throughout the year. There will be occasional extended work hours to include evening and weekend events i.e., events, games, donor trips during football season, BRAA Donor Dinners during basketball season, BRAA hospitality halftime during basketball season.

Other duties include but are not limited to: Engage and attend all necessary BRAA required athletic fundraising events. Assist with all events; golf tournaments, clay target, dinners, other fundraising functions; Help update BRAA membership statistics, provide stewardship and communicate with all levels of BRAA Members and other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics. As well as, create and execute annual giving strategy for the department of athletics, including prospect identification, marketing and messaging, active solicitations, stewardship, and reporting. o Effectively manage and update the BRAA membership database
• Employ a data-driven approach to prospect identification and cultivation
• Monitor, analyze, and report results of annual giving solicitations to determine giving trends and effectiveness
• Actively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual gifts by conducting personal phone calls and visits
• Coordinate with Athletics Ticket Office and Marketing Department to ensure proper distribution of ticket and parking-related benefits
• Manage the assignment, tracking, and all operations/logistics on game days for donor parking, RV, and tailgating at applicable sports
• Coordinate the planning and designing of publications, brochures, and related-collateral materials necessary to support fundraising initiatives (printed and digital)

Additional Responsibilities
• Manage the Courtesy Car program
• Coordinate the Recent Grad program
• Represent the BRAA at civic clubs, alumni gatherings and other community events
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Required Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Required Related Experience

Two (2) years of Experience as a college student athlete or 1 year of experience in revenue generation, specifically fund raising, tickets and/or corporate sponsorship sales.

Desirable Related Experience

Two (2) years' experience in field of fund raising/development including direct solicitation of annual gifts or related annual membership drive recruitment experience required.

A Master's degree in a related field of NCAA collegiate fund raising may be considered in lieu of the two years' experience.
• Advanced education in a relevant field may be accepted in lieu of experience
• Knowledge of annual giving and broad constituent fundraising through direct mail, online, social media, etc.
• Experience working with an intercollegiate athletics department
• Knowledge of Ticketmaster/Archtics
