Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a 12-month, full-time postdoctoral research fellow position (#K20010). This is a two-year appointment with a start date as early as February 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will be a qualified scholar with experience in many-body theory and computation in physics of strongly correlated and disordered systems in and out of equilibrium and have experience developing and applying the Quantum Monte Carlo and/or many-body quantum embedding tools (DMFT, CPA, DCA, etc.). The postdoctoral scholar will join a research project focused on numerical study and method development in quantum systems with disorder. The project is funded by a Department of Energy grant with Dr. Hanna Terletska as the primary investigator.

Required Education

A terminal degree in physics or a closely related field is required. ABD will be considered if it is close to completion.

Other Desirables

Those with experience developing and applying many-body numerical tools for quantum systems in and out of equilibrium will receive special consideration. In addition, those with ab initio experience for correlated quantum materials and those with machine learning tools experience will receive special consideration.
