Marion County is currently recruiting for a Senior HR Business Partner to join our HR Team. This position will provide technical expertise regarding labor contracts, personnel rules, policies, and procedures to various county departments! Duties
- Participates as a lead business partner within the Human Resources Department. Is assigned at least one of the "big three" primary, largest and complex departments in the county.
- Provides employee relations consultation, guidance and support in following up on complex policy and contract interpretation questions, providing recommendations as needed and following up on HR Process oversight questions/concerns (recruitments, HR processing, performance evaluations, ADA, protected leave, compensation and classifications, discipline, due process, grievances, etc.)
- Researches complex HR questions, participating in CORE team and other teams as needed. Researches and prepares analysis on legislation, regulations and law changes and impact on HR systems and practice. Provides assistance to departments with progressive discipline, due process and/or layoff procedures as assigned.
- Conducts investigations, inquiries, and assessments of employment related issues as needed; Analyzes data, prepares reports, presents information to groups. Prepares investigative reports; and makes effective recommendations for action.
- Participates in collective bargaining negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, as assigned as an HR advisor. Serves on task forces committees and interview panels as needed.
- Participates in and facilitates leadership trainings as well as other trainings as assigned.
- Provides back up coverage to other business partners in their absence. Provides support to specialists as needed. Assists with special projects as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree with major course work in human resources, business or public administration, organizational behavior or development or directly related field; AND
- Four years of increasingly responsible, specialized, complex, human resources professional level experience related to the position; OR
- Any satisfactory combination of work, education, training, or experience relevant to the position, as determined by Marion County.
