Global Equity Research Analyst
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated investment research professional with good interpersonal skills to join Jensen Investment Management's Research team to support a global large-cap, quality mutual fund. The Jensen Global Quality Growth Strategy will generally hold investments in 25-40 companies with market capitalizations greater than $10 billion. Investments are selected primarily by a bottom-up, research driven process. Investments will remain in the strategy as long as they trade at a discount to intrinsic value and generate consistent business returns over the course of the investment.
The Global Equity Research Analyst position is responsible for supporting the Portfolio Management team by conducting independent equity research on mid- to large-cap, publicly traded companies domiciled outside the U.S. The ideal candidate will have experience in buy-side international equity research.
Essential Duties
- Conduct independent, fundamental research on mid- to large-cap public companies domiciled outside of the U.S.
- Develop and maintain discounted cash flow (DCF) models on portfolio and bench companies.
Job Duties and Requirements
- Support Portfolio Management team by conducting and producing thorough research reports on mid- to large-cap, publicly traded companies domiciled outside the S. Research reports include analysis of industries, geographies, economics, regulatory and government filings, key products, suppliers, customers, competitive advantages, risks, corporate management, financial statements, financial ratios and environmental, social, and governance issues.
- Monitor companies held in the strategy as well as others that are being actively researched - keep up with news flow, earnings releases, company/industry conference calls and webcasts.
- Develop and maintain discounted cash flow (DCF) models on portfolio and bench companies.
- Present company research to investment team on a regular basis.
- Debate and challenge team member's research assumptions and conclusions for investment securities across all industries and countries.
- Travel to meet with company management as necessary.
- Create written content for external Includes portfolio updates, performance commentaries, and thought leadership pieces.
- Work on ad hoc projects related to company analysis and portfolio management
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or engineering with strong record of academic achievement.
- CFA and/or MBA preferred.
- Ideally, 5-8 years of buy-side international equity research experience
- Proficiency in English required, experience in foreign languages and cultures viewed favorably.
- Strong quantitative, statistical, and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong writing and verbal skills.
- Attention to detail, and ability to execute tasks in a timely and proficient manner.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to self-motivate
- Must work well in a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with Thomson Eikon a plus.
- Ability to travel when needed.
- Positive attitude and a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
