Anatomic Pathology Director
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent nonprofit faculty clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is seeking a pathologist to join the faculty in our growing Department of Pathology and serve in a leadership role as the Director of Anatomic Pathology at the George Washington University Hospital, providing adult pathology services. Those with additional training in areas other than Anatomic Pathology, and/or previous administrative/leadership experience in Anatomic Pathology are invited to apply. This non-tenure track faculty appointment will be made at a rank of Professor or Associate Professor and a salary commensurate with experience. Our growing medical center, with a state-of-the-art hospital and expanding Cancer Center, is located on a vibrant campus in the heart of the nation's capital.
Responsibilities include providing clinical service in a combination of surgical pathology of breast, GYN, genitourinary, lung, head and neck, and/or cytopathology, teaching residents, fellows, and medical students, maintaining scholarly activity as an independent investigator or in collaboration with surgeons, oncologists, and other clinicians and basic investigators, and providing leadership and mentoring to faculty providing anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy pathology services.
Requirements:
MD or MD/PhD or equivalent. Board-certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia. Fellowship training in general surgical pathology and/or a subspecialty of surgical pathology, and strong evidence of academic achievements, including teaching, research, and publications.
