Position Summary
Applications are invited for a 1-2 year postdoctoral fellowship in the Human Development and Social Justice Research Lab housed within the Department of Psychology and Center for Ethics Education. The fellowship reports directly to and is supervised by Celia B. Fisher, Marie Ward Doty University Chair in Ethics, Professor of Psychology, and Director of the Center for Ethics Education and the NIDA-funded HIV/Drug Abuse Prevention Research Ethics Training Institute. We are seeking a motivated early career scientist who is committed to research that advances health equity for socially marginalized groups.
The successful candidate must be open to a wide-ranging social justice research agenda and be able to take a collaborative and leadership role in project design, implementation, publication, grant writing, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Current and planned projects focus on vaccine hesitancy among economically and socially marginalized children and adults, moral distress among addiction healthcare workers, the impact of social media on racial/ethnic and SGM adolescents, and factors promoting healthy sexual development, with opportunities for fellow-initiated research.

Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively with the Director and lab members on mixed-method study design and implementation; quantitative and qualitative data analyses; preparation of publications, grants and conference presentations, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate lab members.
- Works collaboratively with administrative staff and students in the Center for Ethics Education and faculty and trainees affiliated with the HIV/Drug Abuse Prevention Research Ethics Training Institute.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Health, Sociology or relevant social science disciplines
- Minimum six months to one year post PhD
- Demonstrated mastery in designing, implementing and analyzing mixed-method studies involving vulnerable populations
- Strong conceptual/theoretical and quantitative skills including advanced multivariate analyses using SPSS and R.
- Established productivity as lead author on articles published in peer-reviewed journals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively
