Position Summary
The Grants Officer develops relationships with faculty members to assist faculty with activities related to external funding. They oversee the smooth processing of grant proposals, supports faculty in post-award grant administration, and serves as liaison between faculty and Finance office, HR, Accounts Payable and other administrative areas within the University.

Position Summary
The Grants Officer develops relationships with faculty members to assist faculty with activities related to external funding. They oversee the smooth processing of grant proposals, supports faculty in post-award grant administration, and serves as liaison between faculty and Finance office, HR, Accounts Payable and other administrative areas within the University.
Essential Functions
- Reviews award budgets to ensure proper award setup
- Assists PIs and their support staff with post-award grant management
- Works in collaboration with Finance to manage awards throughout their life cycle
- Identifies fundable projects and areas
- Researches and identifies possible funding agencies
- Works with Institutional Giving (part of Development and University Relations) on proposals to private foundations or corporations
- When needed, assists with the writing of supporting sections of proposals such as budget justifications, facilities, biographical sketches and current and pending/other support documents
- Develops or reviews/edits budgets for submissions
- Reviews proposals for compliance with government and University policies and procedures, as well as typographical errors
- Assists in the assessment and re-writing of unfunded proposals for resubmission
- Provides training to new PIs in grant administration
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or in lieu of the degree, a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- One to three years' experience in research administration
- Familiarity with electronic proposal submission systems (Grants.gov, Research.gov, ASSIST, etc.)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with University faculty and external members of the funding community
- Commitment to high professional standards of quality, integrity, and service
- Ability to multi-task and work well under the pressure of deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
- Masters in Social Sciences or Business
- CRA Certification
- Active role in NCURA, SRAI or other professional societies
- Knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education
