About Us:
We are a family owned self storage facility in Oakland Park, FL. We rent units to residential and commercial customers on a month to month basis. The facility is open 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This position is for approximately 20-30 hours per week, mostly on weekday mornings. This includes opening the facility at 7:30 am on weekday mornings and handling the front desk duties. We are looking for someone who is loyal, dependable, has a reliable means of transportation and will show up on time and ready to work. We are not looking for seasonal or temporary employees. This is a permanent position and is perfect for a Retiree looking for some supplemental income.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive at 7:30 am to open facility for business day
- Meet and greet prospective and current tenants in a friendly, professional manner.
- Show units to prospective tenants and enter their information into a dedicated self-storage management program.
- Receive payments from tenants, enter into program. If working evenings, reconcile receipts at end of the night and prepare bank deposit
- Handle phone calls in a clear professional manner. Answer callers’ questions such as availability of units, hours, and facility amenities.
- Maintain office and lobby area in a neat and tidy manner - empty garbage cans, dust lobby area, clean windows and counters, sweep floors, etc.
- Keep bathrooms in a neat and tidy manner and stocked with supplies.
- Maintain property in an orderly, secure and safe manner such as sweeping out units and hallways, picking up debris on property and visual inspection of property.
- Handle and resolve tenant issues in a professional respectful manner
- Maintain tenant files and information in orderly manner as directed by supervisor
- Perform opening or closing procedure for facility as outlined by supervisor
- Communicate effectively with management and other employees
Requirements:
- Minimum five years customer service experience is preferred.
- Attention to detail is very important.
- Ideally, candidate would have previous face-to-face interactions with customers such as in retail sales, banking, hotel, restaurant, etc. or some type of general office experience.
- Computer experience required.
- Must be able to type proficiently and enter data in a computer screen. Able to navigate through multiple computer windows, and scan, copy and print documents.
- Must be able to speak and write English clearly and legibly.
- Able to comfortably sit for a period of time, walk up a flight of stairs, lift open a roll up garage door.
- Must be able to work alone, arrive on time at 7:30 AM and occasionally work evening hours (till 8:30 pm) for vacationing employees.
