Summary Position
The Senior Director provides leadership, facilities and operations expertise, and supervision of the institution's facilities and infrastructure. The Senior Director is responsible for developing project-management policies, day-to-day operations including fiscal affairs, human resource management, planning, facilities maintenance, environmental services, landscaping and grounds, utilities management, identification, and resolution of infrastructure deficiencies, and addressing deferred maintenance on campus
Additionally, the Senior Director will provide leadership, working with the University Sustainability Coordinator, in the area of environmental sustainability with respect to facilities, utilities, energy management and other plant operations. Finally, the Senior Director is chair of the university Emergency Operations Center.
The position serves as a thought leader of the F&A Leadership Team and responsible to the Vice President for Finance and Administration / CFO.

Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, facility management, construction engineering or closely related field combined with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management is required, as is demonstrated managerial experience in a complex, service-intensive environment.
A masters degree in architecture, engineering, facility management, construction engineering, or closely related field is preferred, as is experience developing preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance strategies and approaches.
Professional experience in a college or university setting, or in similar organizations is also preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day facilities operations, repair and maintenance construction, campus services, and all related aspects of the facilities management.
- Build relationships and strengthen communication with campus stakeholders, leaders, and external partners.
- Create a culture of innovation and transformation by designing solutions to improve processes and better serve customers.
- Bring vision, direction, and a long-term strategic view to facilities and operations planning.
- Manage dynamic group of professionals within the Facilities and Operations team by assessing performance metrics providing opportunities for growth and professional development. Supervisory oversight is exercised for the managers of Building Trades, Landscaping and Grounds, Environmental Services, and Utilities Shop. Additionally, the position directly supervises the office staff, i.e. Budget, Utilities and Work Order Clerks.
- Provide leadership, working with the University Sustainability Coordinator, in the area of environmental sustainability with respect to facilities, utilities, energy management and other plant operations.
- Chair of the University Emergency Operations Center and member on several campus leadership committees.
- Assist with various administrative and management functions as required.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, facility management, construction engineering or closely related field required. Demonstrated managerial experience in a complex, service intensive environment is required.
Masters degree preferred, as is experience in developing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies and professional experience in a college or university setting is preferred.
