The Department of Special Education & Rehabilitation at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time, Tenure-Track Associate Professor. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU's proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to professional markets, careers, and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country's largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.

The Department of Special Education & Rehabilitation at East Stroudsburg University offer a variety of academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate level that enable students to work with individuals with exceptionalities in classroom, home and/or community settings. Students here have the opportunity to pursue teacher certification options across various age groups. In addition, students who do not want to pursue teacher certification, opportunities are available to work with children, youth and adults with exceptionalities without certification.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Teach in a collaborative environment with faculty and other professionals.
  • Possess a strong behavioral background.
  • Commitment to educational equity and social justice.
  • Produce educational research and scholarly activity including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Teaching and/or leadership in P-12 special education programs.
  • Working in diverse communities and with diverse learners.
  • Develop and teach online classes.
  • Supervise students completing fieldwork at the graduate and undergraduate level.
Qualifications:
  • Earned PhD or EdD in Special Education or related field, although ABD will be considered.
  • BCBA credential preferred.
  • Experience in teaching, scholarly work, and service.
