Position Purpose
This position exists to manage all catered functions related to the Tuck School of Business and to provide managerial coverage and support for all Tuck Dining Services as required.
Description
The Tuck School of Business seeks an experienced catering manager to support a high-level corporate dining experience for a wide variety of events and functions and serving a wide variety of participants. The ideal candidate will have experience working with clients and stakeholders to plan and execute their event catering needs with exceptional customer service, creativity, and impeccable attention to detail. Hours and catering events are primarily during the work week (Monday – Friday), with occasional availability needed for evening and weekend events.

- Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management or the equivalent.
- Five plus years of general food service experience, preferably in catering/food service management.
- Strong catering skills essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- ServSafe certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Computer skills necessary.
- Must be able to work autonomously.
- Experience in a college or university food setting.
- Sound judgment and self-motivation.
- Ability to work with flexible and changing schedules.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure.
- CaterTrax knowledge.

Key Accountabilities
Description
Catering Operations:
- Plans and organizes the preparation and delivery of catered events throughout the west end community.
- Ensures food preparation adheres to the specified requirements on the catering order.
- Examines content of orders for accuracy and obtains clarification from General Manager when necessary. Places vendor orders.
- Acts as the client contact and lead coordinator for all catered events.
- With General Manager, determines accurate cost of each catered function to ensure profitability. Follows-up to ensure all food and supplies are in-house as required.
- Oversees and attends all Tuck catered events and special functions to ensure proper execution and customer satisfaction. Gives on-site direction to catering staff.
- Monitors catering storage areas in all locations to minimize product and to ensure product rotation.
- Analyzes catering activities and costs.
- Proposes seasonal menu updates, catering menu development and pricing structure to the General Manager and inputs into CaterTrax.
- Coordinates with Tuck Facilities Operations on all set up needs.
- Inputs new recipes into food management system Galley.
- Responsible for submitting alcohol permits as needed and ensuring all NH liquor laws are adhered to.

General Operations:
- As available, participates in the managerial activities and responsibilities of the larger Tuck Dining operation to include all aspects of Tuck Dining Hall, Joe at Tuck, Market, and other areas as developed.
- In the absence of the General Manager, acts as Tuck Dining on-duty responsible manager.
- Assists in the supervision of all Tuck Dining staff, service of meals, and product receiving/ordering.
- Reviews food quality/presentation/storage and temperatures of all items served within Tuck Dining to maximize customer satisfaction and ensure State of NH Health Code requirements.
- Works to create opportunities for synergies, creative solutions, new product introduction, labor savings, program enhancements, and improved service at Tuck Dining.

Staff Development:
- Secures, trains, and supervises all necessary wait staff and union personnel to execute the needs of each catered event at Tuck.
- Ensures compliance of training requirements for Tuck Dining staff.
- Promotes good communication and employee relations, relaying management policies and instructions to employees.
- Advises General Manager of any employee concerns and/or performance issues.
- Demonstrates and models commitment to diversity and inclusion through actions, interactions and communications with all community members and follows all applicable policies.
