The purpose of this class is to perform administrative and technical work in securing and support of the College's computing and/or network infrastructure.

Associates degree in cybersecurity with a minimum of one-year experience in cybersecurity or information technology or a Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity. Experience with securing operating systems, networks, and various applications at an enterprise level required. Cybersecurity certifications preferred.

  1. Provide planning and implementation of additions, deletions, and major modifications to the college wide information security infrastructure.
  2. Perform vulnerability scans of college systems, review vulnerability scan reports, and assist the appropriate stakeholders with remediating vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  3. Conduct security risk assessments and assist with remediation activities.
  4. Investigate and respond to security anomalies discovered during system security logs reviews or reported by college stakeholders.
  5. Assist with the development and enforcement of college wide information security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  6. Perform security analysis to secure the business processes of the institution while meeting faculty, student, and administrative needs.
  7. Assist the College community in identifying and remediating college security policy violations.

  1. Perform periodic risk assessments of data systems and business processes, identify vulnerabilities, determine acceptable levels of risk, and identify ways to reduce those risks.
  2. Respond to security incidents, perform forensic investigations, and coordinate incident resolution and training with end users.
  3. Install, configure, and maintain Access Control Lists (ACLs), firewalls, and various security appliances to ensure institutional data security.
  4. Review, test, and recommend new security enhancements to protect, and monitor college business processes both on premise and in cloud hosted solutions.
  5. Communicate with and provide training for the College community on current network and information security processes and procedures.
  6. Assist with the implementation of security measures to protect the College's computer systems, networks, and data.
  7. Provide technical support for the college's academic cybersecurity program.
