Emergency Communications Telecommunicator
The Department of Emergency Communications has an opening for an Emergency Communications Telecommunicator to perform intermediate technical work, answering 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for emergency and non-emergency requests; Must be able to handle multiple tasks and cope with stressful situations; Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills; Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience using computers and communication equipment required; Certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatch, Emergency Fire Dispatch, and Emergency Telecommunicator by the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch (NAED), VCIN, CPR, and Criminal Justice within one year of hire date; Work schedule is 12 hour shift (day or night shift), including holidays, weekends and rotating on-call shifts.
Starting pay- $29,823 - $35,787/DOQ
