Are you interested in a career as a 911 Dispatcher/Emergency Communication Telecommunicator? If so, The City of Danville is currently seeking a reliable dispatcher who will serve as the first point of contact and communications for incoming emergency and non-emergency calls. No experience required. We are looking for committed individuals who are seeking a career in the Emergency Communications field. Candidates must be able to handle multiple tasks and cope with stressful situations; Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills; Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience using computers required. Experience using communication equipment a plus but not required; Certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatch, Emergency Fire Dispatch, and Emergency Telecommunicator by the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch (NAED), VCIN, CPR, and Criminal Justice within one year of hire date (we provide training); Work schedule is 12 hour shift (day or night shift), including holidays, weekends and rotating on-call shifts; Starting pay- $29,823 - $35,787/DOQ.
