General Summary

The program director must :
1. Be a medical laboratory professional who has an earned master's; holds ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist; has a minimum of two years of teaching experience; has knowledge of education methods and administration.
2. Be responsible for the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, supervising other program faculty/staff, and general effectiveness of the program;
3. Possess a relatively high level of analytical ability is required for advising and/or referring students, preparing course plans, and/or other activities.
4. A substantial level of interpersonal skills to provide guidance and referrals for students regarding sensitive issues.
5. Must have a working knowledge of college software to include, WIDS, Moodle, etc., for lecture and online instruction to communicate with college personnel, and students.

The instructor/program director will collaborate with the Associate Dean in order to assist students in accessing learning and attaining educational goals; facilitate learning by providing varied learning experiences and teaching in instructional modalities as assigned; and professionally represent the college, its role and mission. 1. Chemistry Instructors will hold a Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry of five (5) years of collective relevant work experience equating to 3 graduate credits or 10 years of collective relevant work experience equating to a maximum of 6 credits OR 3-6 graduate credits in a related sub field OR combination thereof.
2. A relatively high level of analytical ability is required for curriculum development and course design aligned with Concepts of Universal Design and Quality Matters, for advising and/or referring students, preparing course plans, and/or other activities.
3. A substantial level of interpersonal skills to provide guidance and referrals for students regarding sensitive issues.
4. Must have knowledge of Instructional Technology and college software to include: Microsoft Word, Instructional Design Program (WIDS), Moodle, Web-Ex, etc.
5. Applicants must have strong interpersonal, oral and written skills.
6. The knowledge and experience in teaching a diverse student population enrolled in academic transfer and career and technical programs.
7. Ability to teach courses over a variety of offering times from morning through evening, and possibly weekends.

The instructor will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with college policies and procedures and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include: curriculum development, assessment of student learning, course revision and redesign' student advising, and utilization of modern teaching strategies and techniques for servicing a diverse student population.
