Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,584 - $6,250 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,938 - $11,703 per month

Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.

Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.
Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general direction of the VPSAEM, the Program Director of Student Success (Black/ African-American) will be responsible for providing broad oversight of outreach initiatives for student outreach and success initiatives aiming to improve outcomes. Such senior leadership will entail broad initiatives in the DOSAEM External Relations area in concert with divisional partners, community partners, and external agencies. In this role, the Director will be charged with providing leadership, guidance and supervision to program staff, student assistants and faculty on release time on special projects. In addition, the Director will serve as the lead designee to the VPSAEM to close the achievement gap among equity students. This work will include development of strategic planning documents, processes, and implementation strategies to advance the Unit's goals, while supporting the fabric and leadership of newly established cultural center in the Unit, as well as advancing a culture of excellence in retention and graduation. The student success centered mission of the position is designed to guide and lead campus and community-based equity efforts to support the institution's priority focus on student success, while vibrantly supporting the anchor institution vision of the University.

Key Qualifications

Work with diverse communities to achieve educational equity outreach outcomes and a multicultural or diverse educational environment.
Analyze and interpret financial data and make strategic business decisions.
Provide leadership, administration, program and strategic planning.
Ability to facilitate group participation, consensus building and foster employee development through coaching, counseling, training.
Ability to conduct program level assessment that supports the University's strategic mission of assessment.
Highly developed skill to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and prepare detailed written reports and correspondence to effectively correspond with constituents, the campus, and community.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and two years of professional or managerial experience in higher education, community organization, or a comparable setting. A Master's degree in a job‑related field may be substituted for the required professional experience
Experience with budgets and personnel management.
Experience implementing programs to close equity gaps and to support a variety of underserved groups including students of color, first generation students, and Pell eligible students.
