Liquor Board Clerk
Allegany County Board of License Commissioners
SUMMARY
Performs administrative clerical work for the Board of License Commissioners (Liquor Board). Considerable knowledge of office practices, equipment, computers, and functions of the Board. An employee in this position is appointed by, and works for, the Board, along with the Inspectors, and maintains a liaison between them, the State and the general public, carrying out the provisions of Article 2B, §10-204(3) of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques; thorough knowledge of the Board functions, organization and policies; comprehensive knowledge of business English and spelling; ability to establish harmonious working relationships with others; ability to work under pressure; ability to organize and perform work independently; ability to lay out and type complex forms and tables; ability to make difficult arithmetic calculations. Considerable skill in typing, dictation equipment, and personal computers. Ability to deal effectively with other employees and the general public.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or equivalence certificate and considerable experience in secretarial and clerical work. (A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a Classified position at Grade 8 with a salary range of $33,820 to $64,266 and a complete County benefits package including health and life insurance, paid leave, and pension.
